I wasn’t just a girl with skin problems. I was someone with low self-esteem, with yet another reason to feel ugly, undesired and unloved.
Yeah, I went all the way there.
How could I look in the mirror and feel confident, beautiful and bold when all I could see is a face full of bumps and scars?
It felt like everyone was judging me based on my face and that I had no control over what was happening to me. None of the face washes worked and none of the serums helped.
When people ask me why I chose to focus on skin conditions, I have to tell them MY TRUTH.
When I sit across from a patient with skin conditions and they cry while sharing their skin story, I cry too because it takes me right back.
I know how it feels to feel hopeless and confused about how to fix your skin.

I know how it feels to look in the mirror and feel like you’re looking at a monster.

But sis, you are not a monster.
What is happening to your skin is just a symptom of a greater issue deep within that needs attention.

The solution to your skin problems is not sitting on a shelf. There is not one magic pill or one super cream that will clear your skin overnight. Having clear skin is a journey that involves finding the root cause of your skin care problems and eliminating the “Skin-Villains”.

This website and these programs are a part of my mission to help empower women to remember who they are and to unleash the bold beautiful superhero that lives within them.

Thank you for taking this first step, I know it’s hard but you can do this.

Together, WE can do this!
Bringing out the superhero in all women.
Just like many of you, it was sometime in my 20’s when I noticed that my skin began changing.
Growing up, I didn’t have any skin issues. I didn’t use any special washes or serums and hardly ever even washed my face. I had maybe one pimple once a month but then something happened, maybe it was my changing hormones, maybe it was the pizza, burgers and chicken nuggets, maybe it was the late nights studying with my friends with a soda and chips for snack -- I’m betting it was a combination of the three.
It started gradually with more little pimples during my cycle, then a few in-grown hairs on my chin, then there were the scars that were left behind after the pimples cleared.
My face went from smooth and flawless to me experimenting with all kinds of makeup to cover and hide my acne lesions and scars.
Believe me when I tell you, I understand.
